2014 a year of ups and downs. Games that were broken or full of bugs like No faces or being unplayable. PSN and Xbox suffering attacks (again -_-), Nintendo getting games for WiiU (great ones) but still behind the times in marketing and advertisement. The ps4 of to a great start without any good games and MS being well MS. The games were a hit and miss and only few gems this year. Here are my top 10 games of 2014. I won't include Remastered games like Kingdom Hearts 2.5 remix, Pokemon, and my favorite game of all time Final Fantasy X HD and sadly X-2

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
'This one took me by surprise I wasn't expecting this Super Mario 3d World Mini game to get it's own full game. This is a very charming game. Using the gamepad to move the level to find hidden jewels, avoiding shy guys, collecting coins and stars. This is a hidden gem that deserves some spotlight. Eat your hearts out Toad and Toadette.

Tales of Xillia 2
This tales of game really doesn't improve from the first one. But it does hold some bright spots. The debt system is a nice add on. The old characters with their new fashion and adding more backstory on what they been doing since the first game. My only beef with this game is Ludger being a silent protagonist. Seriously in a series like this with other great protagonists like Yuri, Lloyd, Asbel( some of you don't agree) A silent protagonist is not needed. and the lack of new places to explore sucks. But beside that it's a decent game that Rpg lover should try.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy
When I first heard of this I feel in love. Using old school turn based combat with a twist like defending would allow you extra attack turns or being able to freeze time to either heal of unleash a special attack on boss. It's one of the games that make me feel old. This game has a old final fantasy feel to it and I love it for that.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Not the game I wanted (wanted a true DK 64 sequel). but hey I'll take it. This donkey kong game is a great upgrade from the Wii's Return adding two more past characters like Dixie and Crankey. Power moves that turn enemies into coins, hearts, and banana's. Improved level design,graphics and a great challenge for people like me. But the biggest addition to this game is the soundtrack. Returning sound composer David Wise makes this even better then return and add something that was missing in Return.

Hyrule Warriors
I never play a Dynasty Warrior game before but after this I might dive into them when I have the money after buying other titles in 2015. The game is great mixing the combat and setting of Dynasty Warriors with the legend of Zelda. Link and Zelda look awesome, Lana is cute and sure they may show more cleavage then normal with the evil half villain. but that doesn't take away that this game is great. Plus I love Ganondorfs design.

Mario Kart 8
I love this game. Online play is a blast to play. Playing with friends and family and getting them to wonder why I choose baby peach as my main character when my lil brother chooses my main guy Luigi along with awesome death stare. Great Dlc that provides more to the game for only 11.99 for 16 new and old tracks while adding lame characters like Cat Peach and Racoon Mario to surprising characters like Link and Animal crossing. and Still to this day this is the best looking title out there better then anything on Ps4 and Xboxone (at least till I fully see Uncharted 4 or XenoBlade X)

Smash Bros
Providing a excellent balanced roster (to me for now), great online play(unless your or the persons connection sucks) and content that can keep you busy for months. This Smash game is my favorite smash game yet.

The Evil Within (ps4 version for me)
Shinji Mikami's return to horror since Resident Evil fully had my attention. Waiting for a good horror game since Resident evil remake and 0 or ZombiU. This game does a great at that but started to lose it's horror touch around chapter 11. but that doesn't stop it from being a great game. The combat is similar to RE4 with ammo being limited (not too limited) the settings also scream Re4 with the village and the last part (spoiler Rocket launcher) This game created a tension with fearful (and cheap deaths) with Laura. The story is interesting and puzzles are easy like Re4. Horror fans should give this game a try you won't regret it.

Bayonetta 2
This was shocker when first announced. Nintendo getting this title only to their system. Wow the backlash from the ps4 and One fans was intense finding out they weren't getting this game. This game is beyond amazing sporting a great combat system with all sorts of weapons like flamethrowers on your legs or using swords, or chain chomps. The games art design is excellent and not only that but they include the first game for nothing. 2 great titles for $60 with extra content like the girls of Nintendo getting their clothes put on Bayonetta. This is easily the Best game of 2014 to me and is a underrated title. Don't let the fact that it's only on the Wiiu stop you from trying this game out.
